Omor Ekushey Boi Mela "Immortal Book Fair of the Twenty-first (of February)" wil be started from 20 February 2026. The book fair will be continued around the month of February & March. Many people were secrificed their lives in language movement on 21st February 1952. Bangla Academy organized this largest book fair to remember them.
Every year in February the book fair helds at Bangla Academy yards for one month around February. The book fair starts from 20th February and continue till 15 March 2026.
Though it is a book fair, now days it becomes like a cultural festival of Bangladeshi nation and The Ministry of Culture controls the fair.

In 1983, Mr. Manzur-I-Mawla, the formar director general (DG) of Bangla Academy had taken decision to start a book fair and he had failed in that year. But later the the book fair was started from 1984 with named "Omor Ekushe Boi Mela".
Name of book fair has been taken on the memory of language movement in 21 February 1952.
